I met God!
Updated: Nov 10, 2022
Well, kind of. If you haven't done so, you need to read my first blog post, as this the next layer of the story...
So I was, surprise surprise, back in Roundhay Park, back at the top lake, with Bamba.
And there he was! My Yom Kippur angel - still with the binoculars around his neck, still tuning in to life unnoticed all around us.
I was so excited I started babbling away. He must have thought I was bonkers. I stopped, took a few breaths, started explaining again. He remembered me! "The kingfisher!" he said. "Exactly" I said.
He was quite surprised to hear that he'd had such a profound effect on me; not only on that day, but that our encounter had propelled me to write, which propelled me to set this website up, and keep moving forwards on this journey I seem to be on right now. I joked that he was famous now, and he laughed. He wasn't really interested in the fame. But, he conceded, if it meant more people might look up and out for birds and all of the wonders of creation all around us, it was a good thing.
He was very friendly and we continued to chat a little more though I was a little star struck (which amused him even more). I asked if I could take his picture, which he declined, he's quite a shy chap, really.
I came home and sent a message to my husband - "guess what?" I wrote, "I met God again! and he did have a white beard after all."
