Transitioning to the autumn season:
Sukkot
The Jewish new year is fast approaching and with it comes the excitement of the High Holydays- Rosh HaShanah and Yom Kippur - signalling a fresh start and new beginnings (for more, please go to the High HolyDays 5784 page).
Shortly after, as summer turns towards autumn, we celebrate the week-long festival of Sukkot and build magical temporary gathering spaces in our gardens (called a sukkah) and invite people to share special moments in that space.
This year, I have decided to open up my sukkah and offer a variety of different events to invite you to.
You are very very welcome to one or many of these different gatherings!
Teaching Online
There is now a really lovely regular group that meets online on Fridays at 12noon to look in detail at something from the (British) Reform Judaism prayer book. We have enjoyed realising that we know more Hebrew than we thought we did, we've built up more Hebrew vocabulary, and practiced tricky phrases so that we can more confidently join in or lead services.

You don't need a prayer book to join the class as it is available online via the Reform Judaism website. Each session stands alone so you can join whenever you are able to.

I am also really excited to be offering a Torah course beginning in April, where you will enjoy learning about different lenses you can apply to understanding any piece of text. It's perfect for you if you enjoy some of the stories but other sections leave you totally perplexed. This course, designed by Dr Rafi Zarum, will truly open youo to seeing Torah in a totally different (and accessible) way.
