What do you pray for?

This morning, the school run (which Google maps tells me should take 14 minutes there and back) took… wait for it… a full hour. Yes 60 minutes of stop-start, other drivers pushing in, queues and rain.

In a previous life my stress levels would have been through the roof. Seriously: Anger. Impatience. Frustration. Heart rate soaring. Bad mood for the rest of the day.

But I chose to see it as an opportunity:

- for quality time with my kids

- to sing our hearts out together to some uplifting music

- to listen to a sermon from an inspiring LA rabbi

- to share what we’re looking forward to today

I present to you the School Run Shacharit (Jewish morning prayer service). I didn't pray for a smooth run to school, but I did use the time, the music, the power of singing and our ancient words to set the day in a good way for me and my children.

So what do you pray for?
